Details of Chiaroscuro -
This piece consists of many layers of medium. When this painting came together it gave me such a feeling of movement and direction. The darkness and depth of the dark blue highlighted with the directional placement of the orange and pink hues giving the painting a feeling of awakening and overall balance. I can almost fall into this piece and move along with the journey it brings. Hence, meaning of 'chiaroscuro' is the treatment of light and shade in drawing and painting.
